" A truly unique and original work of fiction. Deeply disturbing at times, but unique all the same. "

" A fascinating and believable insight into a world we should all pray never happens. "

" A claustrophobic journey into the fall of man from the eyes of an army of one." : Arcko

" If there was one word to describe it ... Alpha_Dog, it's anticipation. As close to a pageturner as you'll find anywhere on the internet. " : Nick Ward

" It's hard for me to remember that Alpha_Dog's slow motion apocalypse story of a world over run by the living dead is a work of ongoing fiction. When I first discovered the journal, I hungrily read each entry one after the other. At one point I looked at the clock and realised that I had been reading for over three hours! I found myself going over individual entries repeatedly, absorbing the horror of the story and finding myself amazed at the elements of normalcy the author incorporates into his story. A must read for any fan of the horror genre! " : Keith Rash, visual artist

" Reading this alternative journal will bring out the natural horror of modern day isolation present in every man's heart . Read and immerse yourself in a world of isolated claustrophobic terror. " : Jeff Laing

" Deeply creepy is the way only something with the distinct ring of truth can be. If it were to happen, then this is how it would go down. " : Dan Mitchell

" Long ago, I began a debate with my good friend, the writer Carter Lee Denton. I asked him what he thought was the best medium for a storyteller to express himself, and the best medium for an audience to experience a story. I began by arguing that cinema was the best medium for both the storyteller and the audience, because it provided a wide palette of tools for the storyteller and a vast range of sensory impressions for the audience to experience.
His counter-argument was that literature was the best for both. His belief was that words and sentence structure were a much more powerful tool of expression than music, film, video, or other electronic media. For the audience, writing was also the best medium for them to experience the story, because it gave them the greatest tool of all; their imagination. He argued that no amount of camera, sound, or lighting could ever surpass the power of people's imaginations.
I have spent over 15 years in the television and film industry, secretly trying to prove Carter wrong. Carter died in 1996, and even in his death, he is still arguing with me. Why do I say that? When I read the Alpha Dog journals for the first time, it was as if Carter was speaking to me from the grave, reminding me of his point. The Alpha Dog journals truly embody what my friend was trying to emphasize; the power of the written word is truly the greatest tool for both storyteller and audience. As an audience member, I read the words in the journals, but my mind experiences subtle anxiety and frozen terror at varying intervals. The same elements that draw me to the horror genre, and specifically the zombie sub-genre, are all found in the words and descriptions of the Alpha Dog journals.
In the end, the Alpha Dog journals provide the audience with an explosive cinema of the mind. The words on the screen transform into visceral mind-body experiences, capturing the audience and forcing them to confront terror in a first-person rapture. There can be no better format for the construct of horror than the Alpha Dog journals, and though I have enjoyed experiencing them in the written word, my argumentative side fantasizes about seeing them translated into the cinematic world. One can dream...even in death." : Bill Allan

" Would i be wrong in suggesting that Alpha Dog might one day be considered its own cult classic? "

" Fan since the start. The writing just keeps getting better and better with time. Keep up the good work. Alpha_Dog is legend! "

" . . . at certain times i was close to tears, while at other times i was just as close to feeling violently ill. This is a genuine end of the world documentation. Consider me well and truly hooked! "

" From the first oblivious entries to the latest horrified ones, the world slowly comes to an end as the last man alive comes to terms with his fat . The strength of the character is what drew me in; we should all be so lucky as to be half as strong as he is were we in his situation. After three years, he still continues to struggle to survive for a future that holds no promise for him. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop until I had read everything. This is a real page-turner, not those Hollywood shams you see in your local bookstore. Alpha_Dog is the real McCoy. If you haven't read his journal, you haven't read anything. " : The Undead Victor

" When i started to read alpha dog, i was taken aback. It is written extremely well, and has an entirely british take on the undead genre. I am still convinced this should be made into a book or a film and force fed to the masses untill they realise how tasty human flesh actually is. " : T. A. Kaa

" Using a blogger is a sheer stroke of brilliance for storytelling in this generation. Subconsciously, we register what we see in a blog as something that is actually happening to this person. This causes the story to affect me down to my core. Here, sandwiched between my friend's sonogram scans and another friend's day at work, is another universe that creeps up on me and sucks me in without giving me a chance to say no. I love it. " : H. Vespertilio

" In its purest form i simply just can not get enough of it! Alpha Dog forever! "

" I am a major fan of this journal . Alpha Dog is the original and the best . What else can i say ? "

" Outstanding ! In all my years of heavy internet abuse i have never come across any ongoing work of fiction that has consistently and constantly played on my mind such as Alpha_Dog "

" At one stage the author almost had me entirely convinced that those things outside were real and what i was reading was by all means a genuine account . I had to get up from my seat and check outside my own house, just incase "

" Every time i hear so much as a dog barking at night, or see a dead body on TV, i think of this damned journal . Get out of my head . I hate you ! " : Anon

" Alpha Dog the movie . Directed by George Romero . Can i wet my pants now please ? "

" I have always had a brutal obsession with zombies and I have now found (via the net) that I am not alone ... that I am not as strange as I once thought I was . The zombie community seems to embrace fellow enthusiasts with open arms . Problem is, I am now addicted to several forums and sites! I feel obsessed with Alpha_Dog's live journal and I think that his 'story' is seriously altering my worldview ! At the very least, he has given my mind a much needed escape from reality and I spend way too many hours reading his journal and fantasizing about what will happen next . Damn that Englishman !!! "

" I've never really been a fan of the online journal ; I have always seen them as the lives day seen through the eyes of pretentious people or Linkin Park fans. I briefly read what you've been doing and have enjoyed it, so well done. It is different and original, it's just a shame that people have taken you idea, but something that is good and has a strong premise will always been stolen. I'd take it as complement, but still I guess you’re pretty pissed off with the whole debacle. " : Alex D.K.

" Alpha Dog's journal occupies a lonely, dark, increasingly unsettled recess of my mind. Fragments of despair occasional steal unbidden into my daytime thoughts. A sole survivor keeps solemn watch over the long, slow end of the world as we knew it. Capable, resolute, but utterly alone, Alpha Dog reminds us that it is the indomitable will to survive which defines what it means to truly live. If you're like me, Alpha Dog will barricade himself into a dim corner of your subconscious and fend off the ghouls while you sleep much less soundly than you once did . " : Zac Grey

" I knew I was hooked after the first couple of entries I read because when my phone rang it made me jump out of my seat. I couldn't go back to reading the rest until I grabbed my clock from under my pillow just in case. I am not a fan of reading and would much rather see a movie but this is one story I am hooked on. Can not wait to read more." : Damian

" I think the Alpha Dog journals are truly amazing, they're done very well and I read them all the time, and I always look forward to new entries . These journals are probably some of the best "zombie" related fiction i've read in quite some time, I am very impressed at how it's done, how real it feels and the isolation of the main character . " : M.M.
